FRANCE 15th century A round silver host box, it rests on three feet featuring natural molten and carved silver rams. They support the body, the base of which is formed by a gallery that unfolds successively: a row of gadroons, a gallery simulating a cloister and wolf's teeth. The central part of the body is adorned with a band engraved in Gothic characters on a guilloched background: "+AVE.MARIA.GRATIA.PLENA.DOMINUS.TE" also framed by two small guilloched bands. The upper part is enhanced by a row of wolf teeth, a frieze of pearls and nets. The cover bordered with floral arcatures is engraved: "+AGNUS.DEI.QUI.TOLLIS.PECCATA.MU(NDI)" on a guilloched background, also framed by two guilloched bands. The central part in protrusion is decorated with a frieze of gadroons, a crown of stylized fleurs-de-lis, a series of wolf teeth and gadroons, crowned with the Agnus Dei - in round hump - carved natural. The latter is attached and held on the back of the cover by two tabs. POINCON: only a punch with the initials"? I N S" is inscribed on the body and the cover.
