A portrait of La Fontaine after RIGAUD, engraved by FICQUET, on the frontispiece of volume I and one by Eisen, after VISPRÉ, also engraved by FICQUET, in the frontispiece of volume II; 80 figures by EISEN, engraved by ALIAMET, BAQUOY, CHOFFARD, DELAFOSSE, FLIPART, LEMIRE, LEVEAU, LONGUEIL & OUVRIER; four vignettes and 53 culs-de-lampe by CHOFFARD. CELEBRATED EDITION, known as "DES FERMIERS GÉNÉRAUX", of this work by La Fontaine, ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL 18th CENTURY BOOKS, CHEF-D'OEUVRE d'EISEN. Copy of which the figures of the "Case of conscience" (volume II, opposite p. 143) and that of the "Devil of Papefiguière" (ibid., opposite p. 149) are discovered here.
