CONDITIONS OF THE SALE
All lots will go to the 3rd basement of the Hôtel Drouot, with attention to storage costs.
The sale is governed by the articles L312-4 of the commercial code. The SVV L'Huillier et Associés, the sale operator, acts as an agent for the seller and its relationship with the bidders is specified in these terms of sale.
Payment of the price : The sale is conducted in euros and is expressly made in cash. The successful bidder will have to pay, in addition to the hammer price, the taxes and sales expenses of 28% including VAT, and 14.40% including VAT for judicial lots.
The goods put on sale: The information given in the catalog is the responsibility of the auction house and the experts who assist it, taking into account the corrections announced at the time of the presentation of the object and recorded in the sale report. The dimensions, weights and estimates are indicative. A preliminary exhibition allows the buyers to realize the condition of the objects put on sale. No claim will be accepted. The SVV L'Huillier et Associés is at your disposal for any information, and invites each interested party to inquire about the lots.
Watches: Restorations, technical characteristics, modifications, serial numbers, dimensions, weights are notified to the best of our ability. They are only given as an indication and remain subject to his personal appreciation. The responsibility of the auctioneer and the expert cannot be called into question in the event of omissions that may remain despite the precautions taken. The absence of an indication does not imply that a watch is free of defects. No guarantee is made on the condition of the watches and bracelets. Revisions, adjustments and water-resistance remain the responsibility of the purchaser. No claim will be accepted once the auction has been pronounced.
Bids: The successful bidder will be the highest and last bidder, and will be obliged to give his name and address, and present proof of identity and bank details. Any bidder is supposed to bid on his own behalf and is held solely responsible for the bidding. If the bidder is bidding on behalf of a third party, he/she must make the identity of this person known beforehand, so that the invoice can be correctly established. No modification can be made after the sale. In the event of a double bid recognized by the auctioneer, the lot will be put back up for auction immediately, and any interested person will be invited to participate in the auction again. The auctioneer and the experts reserve the right, in the interest of the sale, to combine, divide or withdraw any lot from the sale.
Purchase order: The auction house can execute any purchase order in writing or by internet or by phone. It is advisable to make the request in writing, 24 hours before the sale. The SVV L'huillier et Associés will act on behalf of the bidder, according to the instructions specified in this form, in order to try to buy the lot concerned at the lowest price, and not exceeding the maximum amount indicated. In case of bids in the room for the same amount, the bidder present will have priority. Telephone bids are accepted for lots with a low estimate of more than 300 €. The auction house is not responsible for failing to execute a purchase order by error, omission or malfunction of the telephone or internet or Drouot Live, or for any other cause.
No lot will be given to the purchasers before full payment has been made.
Means of payment:
- By cheque, accompanied by an identity document; only the cashing of the uncertified cheque is considered as payment and transfer of ownership. Cheques drawn on a foreign bank will only be authorized after prior agreement from the Sales Company. For this reason, buyers are advised to obtain, before the sale, a letter of credit from their bank for a value close to their intention to buy, which they will send to the Auctioneer.
- In cash, within the limit, including taxes and fees, of €1,000 for French residents and professionals, and €15,000 for foreign individuals, on proof of identity, the source of funds and their declarations to the customs administration, Decree No.of June 16, 2010.
- By bank transfer indicating the slip number.
- By Visa and MasterCard.
VAT: The VAT included in the margin may be refunded to buyers who are not residents of the European Union after sending to the VSC the customs export document, copy n°3, stamped by the customs, within two months after the sale. No VAT slip will be established without official proof of export, the only intra-community VAT number not being sufficient.
Default of payment: Payment by cheque without provision or default of payment does not involve the responsibility of the Sales Company and consequently releases it from the obligation to pay the seller.
