PARIS 1719 - 1720 A pair of square-based silver torches with cut-away sides, the base is carved alternately with panels of foliage torches framing flowers followed by flowered crosspieces under a bordure of gadroons abutting the knot of the barrel. The umbilicus is carved in the repelled of a decoration of scraps of fleurons finished by ponpons framed by windings. The eight-sided baluster barrel is decorated on four sides with antique profiles surmounting a decoration on an amati background. The base of the candle is applied with lanceolate leaves of different sizes. This pair of torches is engraved with the arms of Charles, Marquis of Angosse (1816 - 1873) and his wife Françoise La Caze (1826 - 1874). No legible master goldsmith's stamp, nevertheless the previous model can be used as a counterpart. Weight: 1203 g - height: 22.5 cm Weight: 564 g - 571 g - height: 22.4 cm
