Theater costume: the Samurai. First part of the XXth century. It is made of black wool and canvas with red linen touch. The model has a wide collar Berthe round made in flat pleats. The shape is sleeveless with two large panels hiding the shoulder. The border is scalloped and lined with purple wool and gold metal braid. The waist is equipped with a wide belt applied in black wool. The front is decorated with a stylized sun in gold lamé leather. The bottom is slightly flared. The front forms a pointed flap with a notched edge and a decoration of cord and wool pompon. This flap hides the edge to edge fold of the underskirt. The bottom is decorated with a series of buttons lined with leather lamé. The linen part has a screen print in scales enhanced with gold and peach paint for a bright effect of the protruding parts. The suit is put on and closed by hooks and big snaps in the back. It is fully lined with black cotton canvas. Size flat: 50 cm Smell of dust. The wool has moth holes especially on the collar. The metal braids are tarnished. The lamé leather is worn with a small tear at the level of the sun and misses on the bottom buttons. The linen is in good general condition: a weakness in the weft of about 5 cm in the skirt part (not piercing)
