Costume antique Edouard SOUPLET Costumier 18, rue de Douai. Paris. Beginning of the XXth century : Renaissance dress. The model is cut in a red cotton velvet. The bodice has long gigot sleeves with a pointed armhole. The back yokes are made of velvet in a more pink shade. The collar is round and bordered with white cotton lace. The shape is very fitted with gold metallic braid trimmings and a fake buttonhole on the front. The buttons in the form of tassel are gold metal brand: T. W&W.Paris. The model clasps in the back and opens on a light red cotton lining. It comes with a long skirt with train cut in the same fabric. The model is decorated with the continuation of the buttonhole of the bodice with a border of gold metal braid then forming three rows at the bottom. The waist is adjusted with a snap and hook closure. The model is fully lined with light red rayon. Dimensions : Bodice - waist flat: 34 cm Skirt - size flat: 34 cm So approximately size 36 Good general condition. Odor of dust on the whole. The velvet is a little dirty and has some marked folds from storage. The velvet of the bodice is very slightly eliminated on the edges of the pleated shoulder and under the arms. The interior has only one whalebone and it can be seen that several clips have been undone to enlarge.
