Middle table in wood veneer decorated with a marquetry of nets, marquetry tray surrounded by a bronze gallery resting on four cambered legs decorated with chased bronzes of foliage. It opens to two drawers in the belt. (A bronze element to be reattached, missing veneer). Stamped Krieger on the back and a bronze signed " Krieger, Paris ". Louis XV style Height : 72,5 cm - Diameter : 74 cm The Krieger company started its cabinet making activity in the middle of the 19th century with Antoine Krieger (1804-1869) before adding an important decoration department which ensured the prestige of its business until 1945. The Krieger company executed all plans and drawings in the ancient and modern styles. A thousand workers worked in the workshops of 74-76 rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine in Paris, producing luxury and more common furniture. The production, however, was of very high quality, guaranteeing well-chosen oak or mahogany interiors decorated with selected veneers. Krieger won a 2nd class medal at the 1851 London World's Fair and also presented works at numerous international exhibitions such as in Paris in 1855. Provenance : An apartment of a family in Rennes
