The Krieger company started its cabinet making activity in the middle of the 19th century with Antoine Krieger (1804-1869) before adding an important decoration department which ensured the prestige of its business until 1945. The Krieger company executed all plans and drawings in the ancient and modern styles. A thousand workers worked in the workshops of 74-76 rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine in Paris, producing luxury and more common furniture. The production, however, was of very high quality, guaranteeing well-chosen oak or mahogany interiors decorated with selected veneers. Krieger won a 2nd class medal at the 1851 London World's Fair and also presented works at numerous international exhibitions such as in Paris in 1855.
