Petit in-folio, Dark green morocco, flat, entirely decorated with a geometric decoration of criss-crossing gold and cold fillets, spine ribbed with the same fillets, gold edges on witnesses, garnet morocco lining with decoration gilt and mosaic, green silk endpapers, preserved illustrated cover, half-maroquin shirt with small covers and case (Gruel). 30 etchings out of text by Albert DECARIS; some vignettes in the text; ornate lettering. Edition of 375 copies, this one (No. XXXVI), ONE OF THE 50 ON IMPERIAL JAPAN, containing two additional suites of the illustrations (except for the portrait), including one on china, and, unjustified, a triple state of a refused composition.
